Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing (via email or WhatsApp) as soon as possible. The cancellation fee will be based on Bhutan's official Tourism Rules and Regulations 2022 and the specific policies of our service providers.

Where a specific service provider's policy is not explicitly defined, the following government-standard refund schedule will apply:

• 8 or more days before arrival: 100% refund.
• 4 to 7 days before arrival: 50% refund.
• 2 to 3 days before arrival: 20% refund.
• Within 24 hours or no-show: No refund.

Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) Refund

The SDF is refundable for any nights not spent in Bhutan. If you shorten your trip or cancel at the last minute, you can claim a refund for the unused nights.

• If you paid the SDF directly, refund requests must be submitted online through the official Bhutan Travel Portal.
• If you booked through Three Valleys Expedition, our team will handle the refund process on your behalf at no additional cost.
• Refunds are processed after you have exited Bhutan and cleared immigration.

2. Cancellation by Three Valleys Expedition

In the unlikely event that we must cancel your booking (e.g., due to safety concerns, government restrictions, or force majeure), you will receive a full refund of all payments made, or the option to reschedule your journey to another date. We are not liable for any additional costs incurred by you, such as visas, flights, or travel insurance.

3. Changes to Itinerary

If you request changes to your itinerary (dates, accommodation, services) after booking, we will do our best to accommodate them, subject to availability. Any additional costs incurred will be borne by you. If the change is initiated by us due to unforeseen circumstances, no penalty will be applied.

4. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, political unrest, or acts of government. In such cases, refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration any non-refundable third-party costs.

In line with Bhutan's official regulations, for cancellations due to force majeure:

• 4 or more days before service: 100% refund.
• Within 3 days before service: 80% refund.

5. Refund Process

Approved refunds will be processed within 14–21 business days via the original payment method. If the booking was made through a third party (e.g., a travel agent), refunds may need to be routed through them.

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally non-refundable:

• Visa and permit fees (already paid to the government).
• Airline tickets (subject to airline policies).
• Optional add-ons like hot air balloon, spa, etc., if already booked and paid.
